Everyone has their favorite vision of the future. Some of us might imagine it like Back to the Future, where everything looks pretty much the same except we have rad stuff like hoverboards and futuristic-looking glasses. Some of us might take a bleaker approach in the vein of Wall-E, imagining everyone to be totally consumed by the laziness that technology allows, leaving behind a deserted planet. Or some of us might think it'll be like Futurama where intergalactic travel is possible and we have coworkers who are aliens.
But no matter how you imagine it, the fun is in imagining. We really have no idea what lies ahead. People 100 years ago probably couldn't have imagined that we would have robots who could write us movie scripts and generate images at will. And maybe we shouldn't have invented it… but that's neither here nor there. What matters is the present. And in the present, we have sci-fi memes.
