The 2024 Cassette Beasts Showcase just aired and publisher Raw Fury and developer Bytten Studio just revealed that Cassette Beasts is coming to mobile soon. The event also revealed that the long-awaited multiplayer mode for the PC and console versions of Cassette Beasts will be arriving in May with a beta available now on Steam. I’m most excited for Cassette Beasts on mobile because it feels perfect on Steam Deck right now, and I’m hopeful the mobile version is better than the Switch port right now. Speaking of the Switch port, read my review of it after a few patches here. I featured Cassette Beasts as the best monster collecting game on Steam Deck in 2023 as well. Watch the 2024 Cassette Beasts Showcase video below:
I love how Cassette Beasts managed to be a modern and deep take on monster collecting with its own charm and aesthetic. As of now, Cassette Beasts is available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, and Xbox. I recommend checking it out on Steam Deck if you have the option because the PC version is way better than both consoles. Cassette Beasts is coming soon to iOS and Android, but mobile features and a definitive release date are yet to be announced. I adored the aesthetic, music, and gameplay when I first played Cassette Beasts, and I’m hoping the mobile version delivers an experience closer to Steam Deck than Switch whenever it launches. Have you played Cassette Beasts before and will you be checking out the multiplayer mode or mobile version?
