It will be a sad day for the many content creators who make a living or simply express themselves on the platform, and the many users who rely on its hypnotic endless scroll to fill their spare time.
Still, every cloud has its silver lining, and there have been some very funny memes to come out of the impending ban. Also, many TikTokers have been making their protest known in the App Store, flooding Chinese video-based social network Xiaohongshu as self-styled 'TikTok refugees', a backlash that no doubt has some law makers upset.
